Happy New Year Culver City

Happy New Year! The CCBC is grateful for everyone's support this past year, and to help you settle into 2012, here's a simple resolution that's easy to follow:Move more. That's it. Resolve to be more active in 2012. According to Dr. Mike Evans, just 60 minutes of activity per week will reduce your risk of heart disease by half. That's right, 50% reduction of risk by adding 10-15 minutes of activity a day 5-6 days a week.To demonstrate the basis of his theory, watch "23 1/2 hours, What is the single best thing we can do for our health?". Maybe the best 9 minutes you'll spend in 2012.So in 2012, resolve to do one errand a week by bike. Walk around your block before getting in your car in the morning. Park 5 blocks from your children's school and walk them the rest of the way. Maybe even bike to school with them. It's good for you. Good for the kids and good for the community.
